Experienced rail workers were said to be stunned when they watched the scenes on surveillance cameras... in which only the train's outline and headlights can be made out.
This eerie footage appears to show the moment a 'ghost train' pulled into a station in China.
Bizarre CCTV apparently captured at Baotou railway station shows a train arriving at the station before stopping "as if it was picking up passengers".
But no train is clearly visible in the video although its outline and headlights can be made out.
"This footage was captured on March 10, 2018 and when the station's security were watching the surveillance cameras, they noticed this "Ghost Train" pull into the station and stop as if it was picking up passengers and then leaving..."
The video ends with the train disappearing after leaving the station, leading one person to question whether it was heading towards a "parallel universe".
Viewers offered their own theories as to how the apparent phenomenon occurred with some skeptical over claims of a "ghost train".
Eternal Osman opined: "invisible cloak meta material military experiments."
Somme Bomb wrote: "Could be a parallel universe overlapping."
But Michael Cody added: "looks like they re-record over the same tape and it didn't work properly."
