I've been a railfan all of my life, and I am a member of a couple of railroad discussion forums... And I just don't understand why it happens... but I frequently hear about how many people can't seem to understand the fact that... Railroad Tracks Are Dangerous & Trains Can Kill! I don't mean to preach, but I feel that people need to be reminded of this from time to time... Especially people who are not railrans like me... In case you didn't know... - Snow, Rain, & Wind can reduce your ability to detect (SEE & HEAR) that a train is coming. - Trains can't stop on a dime... It usually takes a mile for them to stop. That means if you can't get out of the way, YOU WILL LOSE. - Railroad tracks are owned by the railroads, and are private property. If you chose to walk on the railroad tracks you are trespassing. - Train tracks are NOT playgrounds, and they are NOT suitable for photo shoots... If you don't want to believe me or listen to me, well that is your choice... but... I will be posting promotional advertisements here from time to time... And I will be posting tragic news stories from around the country when I hear about them... I encourage you all to really listen to the warnings from other people whose lives have been devastated by train incidents, and try to teach other people you know too... Please protect yourselves, your family, and your friends...

I just heard about this tragic story... " Pregnant Texas teen killed by train during modeling shoot" www.dallasnews.com/news/news/2017/03/15/pregnant-texas-teen-killed-train-modeling-photoshoot" 19-year-old, Fredzania "Zanie" Thompson, who recently found out she was pregnant, was pursuing her dream of launching a modeling career, and was posing for photographs on the railroad tracks. She crossed the tracks to avoid an oncoming train, when she was hit by another train coming from the other direction, and was killed.
Friends and family posted this last photo of her, on Facebook, showing the teen posing on train tracks at a switch... in Navasota, about 60 miles northwest of Houston, TX... just before she was killed."
