I remember how excited I was when I saw a commercial announcing the air date for the made for TV, Cinderella, sometime in February 1965. There was a lot of fanfare but all I honestly remember was how thrilled I was that Ginger Rogers was in a movie that I could watch with my family after dinner. Usually, Ginger Rogers' movies aired as a late/late movie or during the mid afternoon where once I played hooky from school and stayed home and watched. Years later, when the DVD become available, I purchased it tout de suite. I enjoy viewing it often. This version had so much going for it: the lovely Leslie Ann Warren singing the hum-able songs; the funny stepsisters Prunella and Esmerelda portrayed by Pat Carroll and Barbara Ruick; the handsome Stuart Damon; the stately Walter Pigeon and of course, my friend (smile), Ginger Rogers portraying the Queen with grace and joy. This made for TV movie was a success and it often re-aired during the years.
