I read an interesting comment on a blog a while back, that suggested...
That the fictional comic book character "Steve Rogers" aka "Captain America", could have been, a relative of Ginger Rogers.
Well, we know that Ginger's last name comes from taking the name of her stepfather... So Steve "Rogers" could not be a biological relative.
I don't know if her stepfather had any relatives or not. If he did, Steve Rogers could only have be a relative to Ginger by marriage only.
Still it is interesting to think about it...
In "Captain America: The First Avenger" (2011) , We see that Steve Rogers becomes "Captain America" in 1942.
In 1943, we see Captain America touring the United States promoting the sale of war bonds.
So it is possible, in this fictional reality, that they could have at least known each other.
Did anyone else notice that, The end credits of the film, features this poster of a woman sitting at a typewriter, who looks just like Ginger from the late 1930s!
Interestingly, I've heard that, the character of Howard Stark, who created Captain America's vibranium circular shield, was originally based on Howard Hughes, who was Ginger's fiancee for a while.
Strangely, in the spin-off TV Series "Agent Carter"... Which I have yet to see... I have heard that jokes, or implications, are made suggesting that Ginger Rogers was a "Russian Spy".
Nope. I could never believe that...
But, I find all the similarities to be quite interesting...
Just like when "Lucy" on Here's Lucy (1971) meets "Ginger Rogers"...
I think it would have been fun to have seen some reference to "Ginger Rogers" being a relative of "Steve Rogers", and then seeing Ginger Rogers up on stage, singing & dancing with Captain America, while selling war bonds.
