There have been claims over the years that the origins of the name "Ginger Grant", came from the merging of Ginger Rogers & Cary Grant's names. Source: gilligan.wikia.com/wiki/GingerWas this perhaps a way of everyone who was involved in creating the show, to honor the two Hollywood Legends? Anyway, there is something I have always wondered about. In the world of "Gilligan's Island", or perhaps in some alternate reality...Could "Ginger Grant" have been the daughter of Ginger Rogers & Cary Grant? I have watched all of the episodes "Gilligan's Island", and I don't remember "Ginger Grant" mentioning who her parents were... And "Ginger Grant" sure seemed to have been someone who lived in Hollywood, all of her life... As many of us know, Ginger Rogers & Cary Grant were very close friends, and they starred together in two movies. In Ginger's Autobiography, she mentions, that she had thoughts of possibly marrying Cary a couple of times, but they were in other other relationships and the timing never worked out... Tina Louise, who starred as Ginger Grant, was born on February 11, 1934... (Umm, Happy Birthday Tina.)... And as far as I know, "Ginger Grant" was not supposed to be any older than Tina. The ages of everyone involved don't seem to be an issue here... So it seems possible to me... Thoughts?

...I've read that in a couple of spots that Tina's fave actor / actress were Ginger and Cary, which makes for a pretty cool character name!
