There is a scene in the film, where James Stewart and Ginger Rogers are on the train and they need to find a place to sleep, because their compartment was double booked. So, they find a public area with a small couch... Ginger sits down on it, and Jimmy takes her coat and lays it off to the side. Then he walks over to her and stands in front of her, and takes her hat off. Ginger just sits there and watches him doing all this to her. Jimmy, then takes one of her gloves off, while she looks up at him...
...Jimmy then tries to take the other glove off of Ginger, which briefly gets stuck on her hand, and for just a second, tries to gently pull her off the couch, but it quickly comes off and releases her...
(I wonder if this was an unintentional wardrobe malfunction that was left in the film...)
...Jimmy, then gently takes Ginger by the shoulders and moves her down to the end of the couch, and lets her go to just lay there. Jimmy then walks over to the other side of the railroad car, to where the light switch is. He turns and looks back at Ginger, who is looking a him with a lot of affection... Jimmy turns the light off, and takes his coat off. He walks back over to Ginger, and sits down next to her, As Ginger cuddles up next to him, Jimmy places his coat over both of them, to keep them warm.
I sat through the whole scene, thinking how perfect this was... that is... until the porter comes storming through the railroad car and turned the lights back on!
Oh, how I wanted to slug him!
I think this scene is the most romantic moment, I have ever seen in a movie.
I wish movies today, would go back to showing this kind of "Romance". I find it much more appealing, than seeing two characters getting naked and doing "The Deed"...
